What this conversion is for

Exchange the supported physical board data in an IPC-2581 document. An output may be rejected when the underlying exporter cannot preserve required pad geometry.

Prepare your KiCad files

Upload the saved .kicad_pcb board for layout conversion. Keep related project files in one ZIP when needed. A schematic alone cannot supply board routing or manufacturing geometry.

Check the IPC-2581 XML result

Check layer order, drilling and component associations in an independent IPC viewer. Pads whose geometry differs by layer are currently blocked on this export path.

Check footprint sides, copper layers, zones and drill locations. Per-layer pad shapes and custom pads need particular attention when changing manufacturing formats.
